TXU Energy Fast Forward Video Contest

Q. What are the requirements to enter the Contest?

 A. In order to enter the TXU Energy Fast Forward Video Contest, you must be a student enrolled in a participating school (those contacted by The Dallas Film Society), you must also (1) be legal residents of Texas at least 13 years of age or older, with school sponsorship and parental permission if under 18 years of age; (2) be a student of good standing in the sponsor school; (3) The Video entered should be appropriate to theme and follow the prescribed Guidelines.

Q. How do I enter the Contest?

A. To enter the TXU Energy Fast Forward Video Contest, your school must be approved by The Dallas Film Society. If the student’s school is approved, contestants may log on to txu.com/fastforward between 12:00:01 a.m. CT on February 1, 2010 and 5:00 p.m. CT on February 5, 2010 (the “Contest Entry Period”) and follow online instructions to submit an entry.

To submit your entry, visit txu.com/fastforward during the Contest Entry Period and complete the online eligibility questionnaire and the submission of a video between five (5) and eight (8) minutes in length (“Video”). Two (2) copies of the Video will also need to be mailed in DVD format along with original signed release forms (which are provided by TXU Energy either through participating schools or by contacting Lisa Stabler at The Dallas Film Society at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

The online submission of Videos must be complete by 5:00 p.m. CT on February 5, 2010 and the mailed Videos and completed permission and release forms must be received by February 10, 2010 in order to be considered for entry. Video should be appropriate to theme and follow the posted Contest Student Guidelines.

Q. Where can I find the Contest Student Guidelines?

A. The Contest Student Guidelines (also referred to as the Dos and Don’ts) are attached to the Official Rules. Q. What are the themes/topics that should be followed for the Video?

A. Videos must reflect one of the following topics/themes (see complete Official Rules for a detailed description for each topic): 1) Renewable Energy, 2) Role Model Influences, 3) Behaviors or 4) Home Power Saver Challenge.

Q. How will the Semifinalists be selected?

A. Following review of Videos by the Sponsor, qualified Videos will be posted to the Contest Web site for public voting from February 15 to February 26, 2010. Videos will be posted by Division (one Division for High School and one Division for College), and each Division will have three “Brackets”. The Videos in each Bracket will be determined based on the total number of Videos received. Videos from the same participating school will be grouped in the same Bracket. The public will be asked to vote for the best Video in each Division and Bracket based on the criteria listed in the Official Rules. This round of voting will determine the top five (5) videos from each Bracket, (“Semifinalists”). Semifinalists will be notified by email or by phone if their Video will be advancing to Round Two. All Semifinalists will be required to respond (as directed) to the phone and/or email notification within the time period specified in the notification. The failure to respond timely to the notification will result in forfeiture of the opportunity to be a Semifinalist and Sponsor may select the next highest scoring video as a Semifinalist, time permitting. In the event of a Web vote tie, PRISM Marketing Partners will cast the deciding vote based on the criteria listed in the Official Rules.

Q. How will the Finalists be selected?

A. Semifinalist Videos will be posted to the Contest Web site for public voting from March 3 to March 17, 2010. The public will be asked to vote for the best Semifinalist Video in each Division based on the criteria listed in the Official Rules. The Web vote will determine the top five (5) Finalists in each Division.

The five (5) Finalists from each Division will be sent to the expert panel of judges, made up of The Dallas Film Society experts and TXU Energy representatives for judging. Judging will take place from March 19 to March 26, 2010.

Q. How and when will the First, Second and Third Prize Winners in each Division be chosen?

A. The First, Second and Third Prize Winners in each Division will be selected by the panel of judges based on the following criteria: (1) presents ideas or perspectives that are forward-thinking and solution-oriented, (40%); (2) appropriateness to the theme, (30%); and (3) overall presentation and entertainment of Video, (30%).

Q. How and when will the First, Second and Third Prize Winners in each Division be announced?

A. Following the judging of the Finalists, the top three (3) Finalists in each Division will be announced and will be invited to attend a VIP event at the DALLAS International Film Festival scheduled to take place in Dallas, Texas in April of 2010. During the Festival the First, Second and Third Prize Winners in each Division will be announced.

Q. What are the prizes that will be awarded?

A. TXU Energy will award two (2) First Prize Technology Grants of $7,500 to the First place winning school, one in each Division; two (2) Second Prize Technology Grants of $2,500 to the Second place winning school, one in each Division; and two (2) Third Prize Technology Grants of $1,500 to the Third place winning school, one in each Division.

The Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes is $23,000.

In addition to the Technology Grants all student finalists will be invited to a VIP event during the DALLAS International Film Festival with the opportunity to meet industry professionals and a top filmmaker. Winners will be announced at the DALLAS International Film Festival.

Q. How many times may I enter?

A. Limit of one (1) entry per student or student group for the Contest. Each Video must be the original creation of Contestant, previously unpublished, the sole property of Contestant and not previously submitted in any other contest or promotion.

Q. What is the timing of the Contest entry?

A. The Contest Entry Period begins at 12:00:01 a.m. CT on February 1, 2010 and ends at 5:00 p.m. CT on February 5, 2010. Contest entry does require that your school be previously approved by The Dallas Film Society. Q. What is the timing of the Semifinalist Voting?

A. Public voting will be from February 15 to February 26, 2010.

Q. What is the timing of the Finalist Voting?

A. Public voting will be from March 3 to March 17, 2010.

Q. When is the DALLAS International Film Festival?

A. The DALLAS International Film Festival is scheduled for April 8-18, 2010.

Q. Who is eligible to enter?

A. Contest is open to students who are enrolled in participating schools (those schools contacted by The Dallas Film Society), who are (1) legal residents of Texas at least 13 years of age or older, with school sponsorship and parental permission if under 18 years of age; (2) a student of good standing at the sponsor school (“Contestant”). Video should be appropriate to theme and follow the prescribed Guidelines.

Employees, officers, directors, agents, vendors and representatives of TXU Energy Retail Company LLC (“Sponsor”), its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising/promotion agencies involved with this promotion (the “Promotional Parties”) and the immediate families (spouse, siblings, parents, children and their respective spouses) and household members of such persons are not eligible. Void where prohibited. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Q. Who can vote in the Public Voting portion of the contest?

A. Anyone can vote during the Public Voting phases of the contest. Votes will be limited to one vote per day per individual (email). Voters may not vote using multiple email addresses nor may voters use any other device or artifice to register or vote multiple times. Any voter who attempts to vote with multiple email addresses or under multiple identities or uses any device or artifice to vote more than once per day may have his or her votes disqualified, in Sponsor's discretion.

Q. Do the students or their families have to be customers of TXU Energy to enter?

A. No.

Q. Do the students need to be present at the DALLAS International Film Festival to win?

A. No. Winning videos in each Division will still receive the Technology Grant even if the students cannot participate in the events at the DALLAS International Film Festival.

Q. When is the student VIP event scheduled?

A. Students in the Finalist round will receive detailed information about the VIP event and the schedule when they are selected as Finalists.
